- I apply salt to these writings After reading Mr. Tom Irvine's latest editorial (a.k.a. letters to the editor, Star, Feb. 21), the point is not so much whether you believe our tax dollars are wasted by government on the impoverished of the world, but rather Mr. Irvine's misguided representation of the decimal system.
- These pages are great for gauging the city's mood I must say that I learn quite a lot by reading some of the letters to the Star.

- Much of the money doesn't get to the poor Yvon Dupuis of Cantley, Que., wrote a letter to the Star echoing the NDP's call for Prime Minister Stephen Harper to increase foreign aid to .07 per cent of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
