  • Green brochure unfair I'm sure that most of the Yukon electorate has received, in the mail, a large, glossy flyer published by the Keep It Clean, Keep It Green, Keep It Wild Coalition.
  • Please endorse Kyoto Accord Dear candidates: I am writing to ask that you support the Yukon officially endorsing and acting upon the Kyoto Accord for climate change.

  • Industrial parks need protection I was reading a recent article. It was titled NDP Trumpets Green Cred by Graeme McElheran. It was saying that the NDP (No Development Party) 'would protect 54 well known critical wetland areas in the Yukon from industrial development.'
  • Still no reply from the premier It has been about two weeks since I wrote the Whitehorse Star, (on September 15) and asked Premier Dennis Fentie to make a list of the achievements of the Yukon Party in exchange for the votes of myself and friends.
  • Employers, not just employees, need training too While I agree with the proposed funding the Liberals want to make available to the private business sector to train employees, educating employers should also be considered. Employers need to start taking responsibility for their negative actions to their staff.
  • Senseless theft upset children Here at Nlaye Ndasadaye Daycare we had a very upsetting Monday morning when our toddlers asked to use the bikes and realized that they were missing!

  • Educators are anticipating your answers Ed. note: this is a letter to the leaders of the three territorial political parties.
  • We'd like to see the Yukon Party re-elected Re: Yukon Party would help kids with disabilities.
  • There's an alternative to using drugs I am writing you this letter today in the hopes that you will let your readers know that there is another way to help kids with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) without giving them harsh mood altering prescription drugs!
  • The misconception just won't disappear In the past four years, there has always been a receptionist at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Student Health Services who has wanted to confirm my permanent address when I call to make a doctor's appointment.
  • Literacy cuts a short-sighted move' With a $17-million cut to literacy organizations over two years (Star, Sept. 27), the federal government's recent actions will impair the ability of some nine million adult Canadians struggling with low literacy to improve their lot.
  • Yukoners, Alaskans are good neighbours The Yukon Party has made a very good effort to co-operate with the Alaskan government and be good neighbours.
