• Future of Yukon soccer looking brighter every day Just when you think Yukon soccer players have pulled out all the stops, that there couldn't possibly be any surprises left in the bag at least, not this year the local athletes keep turning more heads at Outside tournaments.
• Annual Sheep Mountain dog sled race is a go for 2005 The Sheep Mountain 150 dog sled race is now accepting entries. This 12-dog, 150-mile race will be held December 17-18, 2005 and is limited to the first 40 teams signed up.
• Thomas records eight points as Blues hammer Cinderwood The two-time defending champion Yukon Appliance Blues opened the new Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League season with a convincing 13-4 win over rival Cinderwood Tuesday.

• Pike scores tying goal for Yukon Inn Mark Pike scored with just over one minute remaining for the Yukon Inn, as they settled for a 3-3 tie with the Edgewater Windsors in Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League action Sunday.
• Selects make history at nationals In a year where Yukon athletes of all ages have been posting incredible results all over the map, it only makes sense that the Yukon Selects men's soccer team would continue with that history-making trend at the national championships in Calgary.

• Could Yukoners boast hockey titles this season? With the Whitehorse Mustangs AA midget rep hockey team busy preparing in its quest for provincial gold, at least seven more Yukon hockey players could be raising a championship trophy above their heads this season.
• McGrath records hat trick as Windsors down Kilrich Steve McGrath was on top of his game, scoring three goals and adding an assist as the Edgewater Windsors overpowered Kilrich 6-4 in Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League action Wednesday.

• Official mascots unveiled for 2007 Games The Whitehorse 2007 Canada Winter Games Host Society unleashed its mascots on the public Wednesday, after a performance in the Tourism Visitor Information Centre theatre.

• Revel, Thomson winners in Squash Thaw Tournament Squash Yukon held its annual Early Bird Tournament this past weekend, officially kicking off the new squash season.
