  • Anglers will remember who spoiled things Yukon people, particularly anglers, will likely be surprised to know that one of the most confusing proposed regulation change for 2004, 'Streamline and Simplify Sport Fishing Catch, Possession Size Limits and Gear Requirements', from the Department of Environment, had recommendations from the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board sent to the minister, and now most have been accepted.
  • You will remain on file! I would like to thank the citizens of Whitehorse who so enthusiastically responded to the casting call for The Big White (Star, March 16).
  • We represent the minority How much is a life worth? The answer to this question probably depends upon where in the world you live.
  • Photo prompts safety concerns I would like to voice my opinion about the photo you put on the front page of yesterday's paper. It was an eight-year-old boy who was jumping a snowmachine, 'reaching heights up to five metres.'
  • We may be missing the mark If it is at all possible to understand a word in the correct context,maybe the word 'sin' comes from a Greek word meaning 'to miss the mark.'

  • Expecting change is stupid Canadian politics have deteriorated, in the last century, to a level of incompetence that is completely uncceptable to the people of Canada. That statement alone justifies the need for government to increase uneducated immigration from Third World countries.
  • We promote peace these ways Ed. note: Last Saturday, an estimated 50 people rallied in downtown Whitehorse to support peace on the first anniversary of the American invasion of Iraq. Organizers asked participants to write down what they do to promote peace. Here are some of their responses.

  • Council brings new dimension to stupidity Well, it's with great interest that I have followed this smoking bylaw issue and I am so confused over it ever becoming an issue.
  • We want resignations and an inquiry Our union members are outraged by the statements being told by Peter Jenkins, the Minister of Health and Social Services, and his deputy minister, Rob McWilliam (Star, March 16).

  • Pigs' murders revolting, wrong It is truly upsetting to think of the possibility that the victims of the Pickton farm murders in British Columbia could have been mixed in with meat sold and distributed from that farm.
  • Join peace march At noon tomorrow, Yukoners have the opportunity to join with other citizens globally and let the Bush administration know we oppose their attempt to recolonize Central Asia, by joining the March for Peace from city hall to the Elijah Smith Building.
  • Our families need better SUVs There is a major debate in this country over the costs and benefits of sport utility vehicles (revolting and wrong).
