  • Thanks but no thanks to P3s If the government pays a business to finance, construct and operate a facility or service that would have normally been in the public realm, i.e. schools, hospitals, bridges, etc., that is a public private partnership (P3). These facilities are then leased back to the government for 25, 35 or 99 years.

  • I challenge the Quest to address this issue This is a reply to Sebastian Schnuelle's letter (Whitehorse Star, April 22). Yukon musher Sebastian Schnuelle has given his version (Mr. Schnuelle has a very selective memory, in my opinion) of our one-hour telephone conversation on Sunday evening (April 17).

  • The slander of our members is unjust As president of the Yukon Real Estate Association (YREA), I feel it is incumbent on me to reply to the article published in the Yukon News on Friday, April 22.
  • Partnerships BC's role is proper The use of public private partnerships (P's) is not a new phenomenon. Governments have been using co-operative type ventures for years to aid them in their efforts to meet their responsibilities in providing public infrastructure.
  • Be wary of Partnerships BC I see that Partnerships BC has now crossed the border into your neck of the woods to flog its P3 (public private partnership) snake oil ('These partnerships are not failures', Star letters, April 21).
