  • Slaughter was sneaky, underhanded' I heard a rumour last week from a friend that the talk around his place of work was that trigger-fingers were itching and the Northern Splendour reindeer were to be slaughtered on the upcoming weekend.
  • Bison hunt impressed me Ed. note: this is a letter to Mayor Ernie Bourassa and city council. Subject: bison hunt.
  • Why the need to rescue this offender? Why does the Star's columnist, Patty O'Brien, think she can possibly know what is best for the victims of Haakon Artzen (Star, May 20)?
  • Let's guard against being pickpocketed! It amazes me that there is still talk of using a P3 model to finance the building and maintenance of a bridge in Dawson City.
  • The reindeer cull was a horrible thing It is highly unusal for a government employee to write a letter to the editor commenting on the action taken by the government.

  • An apology is due Re: Patty O'Brien's Two Cents' Worth, May 20.
  • Sign was shifted I've just come from shouting and swearing at city hall, and I do not feel the least bit guilty! They'd better.
  • Arntzen is entitled to appeal verdict There are several things disturbing about the Haakon Arntzen case.
  • She told them to keep quiet This letter is meant to express my concern for anyone reading the Star's column Two Cents' Worth of May 20 that excuses the sexual exploitation of children.
  • Vote could have been avoided I heard the chief negotiators for the Carcross-Tagish First Nation (CTFN) land claims on CHON-FM radio last week. They were apparently clarifying some alleged misinformation in the form of a personal letter sent out to the CTFN members from one individual.

  • You've caused anguish to many people This is a letter to those individuals who have nothing better to do than vandalize the property of others property that does not belong to you, property that you have no interest in other than to destroy the hard work of others.
  • Why this dangerous cocktail? I read with utter despair of the coroner's report on the deaths of Mr. Stewart and Mr. Johnny in Watson Lake last year (Star, May 12).
  • Our people have never been so divided One of the many excuses used in not accepting our last vote and forcing us to vote again at the Carcross Tagish First Nation (CTFN) was, we didn't know what we were doing when we voted no.
