Dahria Beatty, who has been having a strong week at the Haywood Ski Nationals, struck gold in the classic technique sprint race on Thursday in Collingwood, Ont.
Beatty qualified fourth in the preliminary round and then quite simply blew the competition away in quarter, semi and final heats to hit the top step of the podium.
A 20 metre lead in the final round against her competition in the Juvenile Girls category drove the point home.
Janelle Greer, competing in the Junior Girls category, added a third medal to her tally for the meet by picking up a bronze.
Greer posted the fastest time in the qualification round, but couldn't quite carry her speed through the final heat. Still, the bronze is also her third medal of the meet.
It was also a good day on the boys' side of the house, with the trio of Jeff Wood, Lee Hawkings and Logan Potter all making the top ten in the Junior Boys' group.
The weather gods were a little more cooperative for organizers today.
New snow fell overnight and throughout the sprint races, covering up the sheet of ice which blanketed the stadium during the previous days' races.
