The Yukon boys' U-18 soccer team has had its fair share of chances, but after two outings is still looking to find the back of the net at the 2009 Canada Summer Games.

The team dropped its second straight game on Tuesday, losing 3-0 to Nova Scotia.

Regardless of the outcome, the Yukoners battled hard for the majority of the game, maintaining a 0-0 tie until five minutes left in the half when Nova Scotia put in its first.

Unfortunately for the Yukon, two more goals scored early on in the second put the contest out of reach.

"It was a little disappointing to sort of allow that fleury of goals there in the last five minutes of the first half and the first five minutes of the second half," said Yukon boys' head coach Jake Hanson. "At this level you have to stay sharp for all 90 minutes."

The Yukon's first contest was against Quebec on Monday, which was also a 3-0 loss.

However, the territory took a 0-0 tie into the second half, giving themselves a chance to win it.

"For the most part we have played very well, just have had a few little let downs that unfortunately have cost us goals in these Games," Hanson said.

The team will suit up again on Thursday and plans to practice later today.

The Yukoners are currently playing without striker Harrison Ewing, who is recovering in Whitehorse with flu-like symptoms. There is a chance Ewing will join the team later this week.
