Graham Nishikawa made it back onto the familiar territory of the podium Sunday at the Haywood Noram 15 km race in Rossland, B.C., finishing just behind home town favourite George Grey.

Nishikawa took just 41:59 to ski the classic course, while Grey crossed the line 29 seconds ahead.

Grey has had some stellar performances lately, culminating in a bronze medal in the team sprint competition at last weekend's world cup races at the Whistler Olympic Park.

Racing in almost perfect conditions, Nishikawa got off to a fast start and led at the five km mark of the three lap race, but faded a bit on his second lap, holding off a hard-charging Dan Roycroft, who picked up the bronze for the day.

On Saturday, the men raced a 1.7 km free technique sprint.

Nishikawa took third spot in the qualification round, but couldn't hold the spot through the heats. He ultimately ended up in eight place overall.
