More than 100 runners will be making the trip to Victoria, B.C. this weekend for the annual Victoria Marathon weekend.

They will compete across the board: in the sold-out marathon and half marathon; the 8K road race and the kids’ race.

There are 106 registered from Whitehorse and three from Dawson City.

Many of the athletes will occupy a special Air North Thanksgiving weekend flight (Boeing 737-500 that can seat 122 people), which leaves for Victoria from Whitehorse at 3 p.m. today and returns on Monday.

Last year more than 85 runners were on the flight to Victoria for the event.

The Victoria Marathon weekend is a massive undertaking, with more than 9,000 participants hitting the city’s streets for the event.
