Yukon Road Race 10 km Championship Tuesday results

The weather in Whitehorse could have been better, could have been worse for the Yukon Road Race 10-kilometre Championship held Tuesday.

The weather in Whitehorse could have been better, could have been worse for the Yukon Road Race 10-kilometre Championship held Tuesday.

Twenty-five runners and walkers started in the F.H. Collins Secondary School parking lot before taking to the 2.5-km and 5-km routes on Millenium Trail.

Junior men's runner Logan Roots, who recently returned from the Western Canada Summer Games in Kamloops, B.C., finished with the fastest time in the 10-km class with a time of 35 minutes, 24 seconds.

Maura Sullivan beat out Brittany Pearson by 19 seconds to win the open women's 10-km group with a time of 40:22.

Other distances included the 5-km and 3-km run and 5-km walk.
