Ryan Martin proved once again this seaosn that he's a clutch performer.

Martin recorded a hat trick for the Yukon Appliance Blues as they pulled out a 7-3 victory over the Cinderwood Canucks, taking their best-of-three Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League A division championship series in the third game Thursday, for the second year in a row.

Martin also had a hat trick in last year's final, when the Blues were awarded the championship.

It was 3-1 after the first period for the Blues but Cinderwood tied it up with two goals in just over 10 seconds in the second.

Martin scored the winning goal with 7:50 remaining in the second and the Blues never looked back, adding two empty net goals in the last two minutes of the championship game.

Clayton Thomas, who's been hitting the twine all season long for the Blues, added a pair of goals while Joe Martin claimed a goal and an assist. Eric Hendricks finished the night with three assists while Thom Minard picked up two helpers. Cary Goodman, Mike Cozens, Ryan MacKenzie, Ken Anderson and Eric Kositsin were each credited with one assist.

Joey Mason led the Canucks with a pair of goals while Kirk Gale tacked on a goal and an assist. Randy Merkel netted a pair of assists while Jay Glass and Frank Aucoin each had one helper.

The B divison championship was decided earlier this week, as defending-champions Sports North disposed of the Environmental Dynamics Slimy Sculpins in two games.

Scoring came from all corners for Sports North, as they doubled the Sculpins 4-2 Wednesday.

Alain Desrochers, Ken Olson, Mike O'Connor and Rick Olson provided the offence.

Pat Tobler and Dan Morner replied for Environmental Dynamics Slimy Sculpins.
