The Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League (WRHL) opened the 2011-2012 season Friday night with Narrow Gauge defeating divisional rival Meadia Solutions Muckers 5-3.

Narrow Gauge sealed the victory with three second-period goals after taking a 2-1 lead to the first intermission.

"I was feeling pretty good in the first, but slowed down in the second,” Narrow Gauge forward Steve Wort said. "It was the first game of the season, so hopefully things will only get better.”

WRHL games will continue at Takhini Arena throughout October.
