The Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack cross-country team sent four members to compete in the UBC Outdoor Track meet on Saturday in Vancouver.
The Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack cross-country team sent four members to compete in the UBC Outdoor Track meet on Saturday in Vancouver.
Returning to the WolfPack for her second year is Whitehorse runner Zoe Painter.
Since returning from injury less than a month ago, Painter continues to clock impressive times.
In a press release from TRU WolfPack Athletics, head coach Carmin Mazzotta credits Painter's work with TRU strength and conditioning coach Greg Kozoris for her quick recovery.
Painter competed in two races last weekend. In the 800 metres, she had a time of 2:29:07. The time posted by Painter is a new school record bettering the old mark by more than six seconds.
The winning time in the 800-metre race was 2:23:37.
Painter next competed in the 1,500-metre race finishing with a time of 5:01:86. The winning time was 4:39:22. Her time in the 1,500 is a new school record, beating her old mark by more than four seconds.
Up next for the TRU runners is the Emily Mondor track meet hosted by Simon Fraser University this weekend.
