Whitehorse Terry Fox Run to be held Sunday
Hundreds of thousands of people across Canada are expected to participate in the 30th Annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 19th, marking a milestone anniversary year for the Foundation which bears Terry's name.

Hundreds of thousands of people across Canada are expected to participate in the 30th Annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 19th, marking a milestone anniversary year for the Foundation which bears Terry's name.
In 2009, Canadians donated more than $20 million to cancer researh through participating in Terry Fox events.
In the early days of The Marathon of Hope in 1980, Terry was an unknown runner, and raising money was tough.
Now 30 years later, Canadians face their own fundraising challenges with an economy that has been battered.
But what matters most today, what compelled Terry to finish that 26th mile every day, is the knowledge that nothing is tougher to deal with than a diagnosis of cancer, devastating news delivered to 455 Canadians every day.
It was in the face of this kind of adversity that Terry formed his indomitable spirit.
Terry Foxers are asked to contribute what they can, keeping in mind that Terry was all about the effort, about taking himself to the limit for the cause, and about bringing an end to cancer.
The Terry Fox Run empowers each and every one of us to make a difference, following Terry's lead.
The Whitehorse Run will take place at the SS Klondike with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the Run starting at 12:30 p.m.
In addition to the Run there will be live entertainment, guest speakers and a BBQ.
In 2009 more than 200 Yukoners participated in the Whitehorse Terry Fox Run raising over $6,000 dollars in the process.
