The first wave of 85 Yukon athletes and coaches will be departing today with another 77 participants from the territory arriving to begin week-two of competition.
Hannah King of Whitehorse won the territory’s first medal Sunday, finishing with a bronze in the judo competition.
The second medal, a silver, was won Monday morning by Brody Smith in the 5,000-metre race walking event.
British Columbia is leading the medal count with 122 followed by Alberta with 98, Saskatchewan with 79, Manitoba with 75 and the Yukon with its two. The Northwest Territories and Nunavut have yet to medal.
There are 11 sports in week two.
Yukon athletes will be participating in four: badminton, soccer, swimming and volleyball.
