Well Read picks up 21 pts, vaults back into third place

Well Read Books was the top team in Thursday Night Squash League action last week, collecting 21 points and jumping into third place overall with a total of 247.

Well Read Books was the top team in Thursday Night Squash League action last week, collecting 21 points and jumping into third place overall with a total of 247.

Kumon Learning took home 13 points and remained in first spot with a total of 319 while the Electrical Shop also grabbed 13 points and sits third with a total of 271. Rounding out the top four is Sterling Insurance, which claimed just eight points for a total of 240.

Whitehorse Travel had the bye this week and sports a total of 238 points, good enough for fifth overall. Northern Lights picked up 10 points for total of 221 while Navigo Broadband is still in the basement, recording 15 points for a total of 208.

Winning their matches for Well Read Books were Kapri Martin, Ronie-Sue Spavier and Mark Dyer.

Martin took her match against Sterling's Bryan Gartner by default while Spavier swept Shari Thompson in three games. Dyer ousted Amberley Wolfe in four.

Beth Ellis won the lone match for Sterling, prevailing over Jessica Borgford in five games.

Jeanette Carney and Judy Ratcliffe were victorious for Kumon. Carney sent Northern Lights' Shannon Tessier home in four games while Ratcliffe needed five to beat Mark Beese.

Jean Beckerton was the lone victor for Northern Lights. Beckerton, who was filling in for John Kramer, downed Patti Flather, who was subbing for Darren Holcombe, in four games.

Chris Ziegler and Tracy Pittman picked up the big points for Electrical. Ziegler fought Navigo's Jeff Wright for five games before emerging with the victory while Pittman took care of Zoe Walker in three straight.

Lisa Gudbranson and Alex Robinson replied for Navigo. Gudbranson took her match against Shari MacIntosh by default while Robinson, who was playing for Ryan MacKinnon, whipped David Buckler in three straight games.
