Two of the league's elite players went toe to toe this week in a battle of the birdies.

With league leader Jessie Devost absent from the ranks, Matthew Grant looked poised to win the evening outright with a round that included eight birdies, but stumbled on the 18th with a heartbreaking bogie to finish at 5 under 51 – which was good enough to set a new league record low round.

Dan Reimer however, who last week showed moments of brilliance following a long layoff, pulled out all the shots to tie Grant at 5 under with a round that included seven birdies.

Grant and Reimer just about lapped the field as the next closest score was posted by the wily veteran Dave Griffiths; a 4 over 60.

Other scores of note included;

• Howard Chymy at +5

• Richard Vladars at +5

• Vince Federoff at +7

Players of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the league which plays every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
