It was a close battle, but in the end, Underhill walked away the 2006 Tuesday Night Squash League champions, after defeating Assante 16-15 in the final.

Ketza took out Pizza Hut 18-12 in the fight for third spot.

Winning their matches for Underhill were Cameron Webber and Denny Kobayashi.

Webber ousted Assante's Steve Fecteau in four games while Kobayashi got rid of Michel Gelinas in four.

Richard Meredith and Rob Schneider replied for Assante.

Meredith needed five games to beat Chris Toleman while Schneider, who was filling in for Stephane Aucoin, sent Shaun Stinson, who was subbing for Jane Bell, home in four.

Charlie Hoeller and Michael Hanson were victorious for Ketza.

Hoeller took his match over Pizza Hut's Patrick Gardiner by default while Hanson swept Lori Muir, who was playing for Don Murphy, in three games.

Marc Emond and Don Emond won their matches for Pizza Hut.

Marc fought Jim Gilpin for five games before emerging with the victory while Don defeated Blaine Tessier in five.

The awards for the Tuesday Night Squash League will be handed out Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut.

Finals for the Thursday Night Squash League are this evening, with Whitehorse Travel and Northwestel High Speed Internet vying for the title.

Kumon Learning and Well Read Books will play for third place.
