The U15 Whitehorse Mustang teams worked together to put on a “barn burner of a hockey game” Saturday at the Canada Games Centre, according to the team’s Facebook page.

The teams raised $4,920 and collected a lot of food for the Whitehorse Food Bank.
Brody Nash won the prize for the player who gathered the most donations.
It was a scintillating game, which saw the Black team stage a major comeback, as they trailed the White team 5-2 after two periods. The Black team came storming back and tied the game at 5-5 with only 27 ticks left on the clock. Their joy was short-lived, though, as the White team bounced back in OT with a goal to win it 6-5.
“It was their opportunity to give back to the community,” said U15 Mustangs head coach Tim Hogan.
“The community is pretty generous to minor hockey.”
