Tour de Whitehorse wraps up with the criterium

The third and last event in the Yukon Energy Tour de Whitehorse wrapped up Wednesday after it was rescheduled from last Friday because of rain.

The third and last event in the Yukon Energy Tour de Whitehorse wrapped up Wednesday after it was rescheduled from last Friday because of rain.

The tour consisted of the three events; the criterium or a lap race on Wednesday; last Saturday’s time trials ranging in distances from 10 kilometres to 20-km depending on age; and last Sunday’s road race ranging in distances from 30-km to 75-km.

As the only cyclist to compete in all three disciplines in the boys Under-11 class, Thomas Vollmer placed first. He completed the 10-km time trial in 24 minutes and 30 seconds, finished the 30-km road race in one hour, 26 minutes and six seconds, and also completed the 30-minute criterium.

Kaden Gregory finished first in the boys U-13, after completing the 10-km time trial in 17:12 seconds, the 50-km road race in 1:29:30 seconds and finished first in the 30-minute criterium.

The lone cyclist in the U-13 girls, Tori Vollmer finished the 10-km time trial in 17:30, the 50-km road race in 1:29:31 and finished the 30-minute criterium.

The lone cyclist in the U-15 girls, Ava Irving-Staley completed the 30-km time trial in 35:46, the 50-km road race in 1:29:20, and finished the 30-minute criterium.

Cauis Taggart-Cox was the only U-17 boy. He finished the 20-km time trial in 36:52, the 75-km road race in 1:57:03 and finished the 60-minute criterium.

In the U-17 girls class, Veronica Porter finished first after completing the 20-km time trial in 36:33, the 75-km road race in 2:21:26 and finished the 60-minute criterium.

Micah Taggart-Cox finished first in the boys U-19, after finishing the 20-km time trial in 36:33, the 75-km road race in 1:56:44 and finished the 60-minute criterium.

None of the six expert men competed in all three disciplines.

But Troy Henry finished first in the 20-km time trial in 30:41, and finished first in the 75-road race in 1:56:45.

In the sport men category, Bill Slater finished first in the 20-km time trial in 33:47 and Rob Reese took the 75-km road race in a time of 2:02:16.

Trena Irving was the only cyclist in the expert women’s category. She finished the 20-km time trial in 35:37, the 75-km road race in 2:24:42 and finished the 60-minute criterium.
