Thursday squash league concludes 2007-08 season

Kumon Learning put on a dominant performance to close out the Thursday Night Squash League's 2007-08 regular season.

Kumon Learning put on a dominant performance to close out the Thursday Night Squash League's 2007-08 regular season.

The team beat first place Sterling Insurance by a decisive score of 21-12, which helped them secure sole possession of second place in the league's standings with 278 points.

The top four teams in the league's standings qualified for the playoffs.

The two other teams were Underhill, who finished third and Whitehorse Travel, who placed fourth.


Kumon Learning 21, Sterling Insurance 12

Three players for Kumon Learning scored six points, which is the maximum amount of points that can be awarded in an individual matchup.

Katrina Russell, Judy Ratcliffe and Beth Ellis each finished with six points, while Marshall Ewing contributed three points in the team's win.

Shannon Tessier finished with the most points for Sterling Insurance with six, while Mark Beese scored three points in total.


Whitehorse Travel 20, Electrical Shop 7

Aiza Gomez, Amberley Wolfe and Marie Cairns each scored six points for Whitehorse Travel, while David Buckler contributed six of Electrical Shop's seven points in the match.


Underhill 19, Northern Lights Optometry 8

Charles Stuart, Zoe Walker and Stephen Grundmanis each scored six points for Underhill, while Patti Flather finished with six points for Northern Lights in the loss.
