This week's Mt. McIntyre trail report
A few more centimeters of snow has been the icing on the cake! Skiing is excellent.
A few more centimeters of snow has been the icing on the cake! Skiing is excellent.
Most trails have been groomed in the last few days.
World Cup 10-kilometre, Pierre Harvey, 7.5-km, Powerline, Dog, Copper Haul Road, Lower Valley and Sarah Steele outer loop were groomed in the last two days and are excellent for classic or skating. The overflow on Lower Valley at the McIntyre Creek crossing is skiable but use caution.
Copper to the Gravel Pits, Upper Valley, Selwyn's Loop, World Cup 5-km and the lit trails were groomed Monday and are excellent for classic or skating.
McIntyre Ascent and Descent were groomed last week. Very good for classic. Recommended for experienced skiers only. Take extra food and water and extra wind layers for the Descent. Always watch for snowmobiles on the Descent as it is a shared trail.
Skiers with dogs are asked to avoid the stadium area on Tuesday and Thursday between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dogs must be on a leash in all signed areas and parking lots. Day pass or membership required to use Dog Trail.
