Nigel Sinclair-Eckert, Lee Hawkins and Kelsey Kabanak continued their dominating performances in the Yukon Schools Athletic Association Mountain Bike Series.

The three cyclists have built up a commanding lead in each of their respected divisions, which is thanks to three straight first place finishes, which continued on Wednesday.

The mountain bike series features four separate races and is organized by all four Whitehorse high schools, being F.H. Collins, Vanier, Porter Creek and Ecole Emilie Tremblay.

Participating students earn points, which are valued accordingly to final placement. Category winners are given 10 points and two points are deducted for every place after that.

The points are added up at the conclusion of the series and awards are given out to the top finishers.

The bike series is a popular draw for participants and usually averages between 35 and 40 competitors.

Sinclair-Eckert is in first place in the Grade 8 division with 30 points, which is eight points ahead of second place rider Colin Kabanak.

Tyler Wynnyk has a slim two point lead in the Grade 9/10 category over Simon Geoffroy. Wynnyk has 18 points.

Hawkins has a firm lead in the Grade 11/12 division with 30 points, while Nathaniel Rodden occupies the second spot with 24 points.

Kelsey Kabanak has a solid eight point advantage over Robin Krug in the open girls category. Krug has 22 points in total, while Rebecca Gaetz is not far behind her with 18 points.

Nathan Seifert has 28 points and is currently in first place in the BMX division.
