AND AWAY THEY GO – Our sports rewind brings us to May 25. As most sport organizations are still unable to operate, it’s the Star’s belief that it’s still important to celebrate the sports community during the pandemic. The photos range from 2010 to 2017 and were published on the 25th. Above, 220 students participated in the Vanier Ridge Run in May 2010.

WHERE TO GO? – Youth in the Orienteering Junior Program help celebrate World Orienteering Day with a downtown race in May 2017.

PUSHING FORWARD – Logan Boehmer speeds up Haeckel Hill on his way to winning the race in 2014. Boehmer completed the climb in 35:53. It was the first time the then 22-year-old had attempted the Haeckel Hill run.
