The Canada Winter Games in Red Deer Alta., came to an end on Sunday. Cross-country skier Natalie Hynes, the Yukon’s only medalist, was the territory’s flag bearer.

Before we say goodbye to the Games for another four years let’s look one more time at what the Yukon athletes accomplished on Friday and Saturday.
We will start on the slopes and alpine skiing where the athletes competed in ski cross on Saturday. In the girls’ race, Greta Gladwin grabbed the 13 spot.
On the boys’ side, Charlie Hawes got 25th, Wesley Vangel, and Naoise Dempsey tied for 33rd and Clayton Michael Chapman and Aidan Mercer tied for 49th.
The archers wrapped up their Games Friday in the team competition. The compound bow team of Vincent Ménard and Sofija Jewell just missed the podium coming in fourth. The recurve team of Wyatt Kapaniuk and Emma Tom Tom placed ninth.
In badminton, the mixed team competition ended on Saturday. The Yukon team of Austin Meng Au, Gabriella Bélanger, Carl Knickle, Lukas Sebastian Kobler, Lily Kremer, Shalya Kremer, Tristan Kremer, and Anton Menzel grabbed the 11th position.
On Saturday, the cross-country skiers had their last race, a mixed relay. The Yukon had two teams entered in the race.
Team A, featuring Derek Deuling, Marcus Deuling, Natalie Hynes and Amanda Thomson finished two-minutes behind third for fourth, in a time of 1:08:16.80.
Team B, of Hannah Deuling, Sasha Masson, Jamie Phillips-Freedman and Sonjaa Schmidt snagged a top 10 finish coming in eighth with a final time of 1:12:09.60.
Figure skater Mikalaya Kramer’s CWG ended on Thursday. Kramer placed seventh after scoring a 58.64 on her free program routine. Earlier in the week, she scored a 35.91 for her short program. Her total score was 94.55.
The male judo team competition came to an end on Friday. The Yukon judokas came in ninth.
The hockey team wrapped up their tournament earlier last week but secured the 12th overall spot.
The squash team ended their tournament also in the 12th spot.
