A fun rural school badminton tournament was held in Carmacks May 12.

Basically with Covid and limited events, rural schools not allowed into Whitehorse for events.

Dawson, Faro, and Pelly were unable to attend but Watson Lake was able to make it with 18 students.

In total 30 youth took part in the tournament that consisted of a full day of round rodin play for the divisions and then the playoffs.

There were six youth who received Yukon Badminton Masks for sportsmanship and fair play.

“It was a ton of fun, kids were just ecstatic to be doing something after the tough year they had.” said Brad Mainse from the Tantalus School, Carmacks.
