On the last Saturday in April, people from all over the globe will gather to celebrate the many benefits of Taijiquan and Qigong.

The Yukon event will take place on the river side of the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

What began as a single event in Kansas City, Missouri in 1999 has caught on around the globe. On Saturday, World Tai Chi & Qigong Day will begin at 10 a.m. in New Zealand, and thenextend time zone by time zone around the world, to finish with the final events in Hawaii nearly24 hours later.

We will be joining people from over eighty nations and hundreds of communities to celebrate the healing benefits of tai chi. Our motto is “One World...One Breath...”

Tai Chi Yukon invites everyone to join us at on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Shipyards Park. An hour of qigong and tai chi practice will be followed by tea in the Whitehorse Public Library meeting room. This event is free and no tai chi experience is necessary.

Learn about this Chinese art that promotes stress reduction, flexibility, relaxation, increased strength, and calmness of mind.

For the 20th year, Tai Chi Yukon will join this worldwide celebration.

At this time, the instructors and board of Tai Chi Yukon wish to express our appreciation of Star photographer Vince Fedoroff, who has been documenting our event for most of those 20 years. We are most grateful for his support and lovely images on all those chilly mornings.
