Sterling Insurance increases lead in squash league

Sterling Insurance may have been missing three of its regulars, but that didn't stop the team from scoring the most points in the Thursday Night Squash League.

Sterling Insurance may have been missing three of its regulars, but that didn't stop the team from scoring the most points in the Thursday Night Squash League.

Six points by Amy Leach and five points from substitute players Roni Sue Sparvier, Tyler Martin and Rob Veres helped the team to a 21-3 victory over Uniglobe Specialty Travel.

With 141 points, Sterling Insurance has a commanding lead in the standings over second place Electrical Shop, which has 128 points.

The leading scorer on Uniglobe was Kai Knor, who chipped in two points, while Leonard Linklater finished with one point.


Underhill 14, EMCO 12

Jeanette Carney and Sophia Flather each contributed six points for Underhill,while teammates Joan Moffitt and Will Parker scored the team's remaining two points.

Randi Cave and Lisa Gudbranson scored six EMCO's 12 points.


Northern Lights Optometry 15, Electrical Shop 14

Loralee Martin and Zoe Walker combined for 12 of Northern Lights Optometry's 15 points. The team is currently in the third place in the league.
