Sterling Insurance holds onto first place in squash league

A 16 point team performance, helped Sterling Insurance maintained sole possession of first place in the Thursday Night Squash League.

A 16 point team performance, helped Sterling Insurance maintained sole possession of first place in the Thursday Night Squash League.

The team has a slim three point advantage over Uniglobe Specialty Travel, which scored an incredible 23 points to move up three positions in the league's standings.


Sterling Insurance 16, Electrical Shop 15

Darin Sinclair and Amy Leach led the way in scoring for Sterling Insurance, each scoring six points.

Not only did Leach finish with the maximum six points awarded, but she also managed to shutout her opponent, which secured the victory for Sterling Insurance.

Mark Beese also played extremely well for the Sterling Insurance, finishing with three points and Neisha Bicudo chipped in the squads remaining point.

After three weeks of play, Sterling Insurance has scored 52 points in total.

Mike Marcuson and Tara Matechuk each finished with six points for Electrical Shop, while David Buckler scored three in the team's loss.

The Electrical Shop has a total of 36 points and is currently in fourth place in the Thursday Squash League's standings.


Uniglobe Specialty Travel 23, Emco 7

Tracy Pittman, Kai Knorr and Leonard Linklater each scored six points for Uniglobe Specialty Travel, in what was the most lopsided victory in the Thursday's squash competition.

Ian Lakins also played very well for Uniglobe Specialty Travel, finishing with five points in the team's victory.

Dallas Yeulett scored the most points for Emco with three in total, while Lisa Gudbranson notched two.


Kumon Learning 19, Underhill 9

Judy Ratcliffe, Kathleen Froese and Nora Mooney each scored six points in Kumon learning win over Underhill.

All three players also managed to hold their opponents to just one point in the team's victory.

Sophia Flather finished with six points for Underhill.
