Home ice is treating Ted Stephens just fine.

The former Moncton Wildcats and St. F.X. X-Men standout has grabbed the early points lead in rec hockey, with 11 goals and 12 assists in just five games.

Stephens, who will be an offensive weapon for the Nuway Crushing Whitehorse Huskies this season, is playing A Division recreational hockey with ORC this year.

His teammate, Joe Densmore, has added 10 goals in three games, and is tied for fifth in league scoring for fifth-place ORC.

However, Yukon Brewing continues to lead the 10-team league with a 4-1-1 record, ahead of second-place Whitehorse Bobcat.

In action last night, the KDFN Warriors downed the Hockey Yukon Mustangs 5-2, following Yukon Brewing’s 10-8 victory over ORC Monday at Takhini Arena.

Meanwhile, in B Division action, Tyler Murray has once again grabbed an early share of the scoring lead with 11 goals and seven assists in six games for Boston Pizza-Polarcom.

Murray is tied with CRB Nighthawks star Tyrell Hope, who has nine goals and nine assists in seven games.

The Nighthawks are sitting comfortably atop the league – which now consists of seven teams – with a record of 5-0-2.

Goody’s Gas and the KDFN NorthStars are tied for second.
