Assante beat TSL Contractors 20-13, Outside The Cube downed Earls Restaurant 18-14, and Aurora Geosciences squeaked by Better Bookkeeping 16-15 in the first matches of the new season.

Picking up individual wins for Assante were Mark Tubman (3-2), Michael Tilbrook (3-0) and Ben Grundmanis (3-2).

Drew Osborne suffered Assante’s lone loss, 3-1 to Jonathan Gorton.

In other action, Chris Toleman and Brian Healey led Outside The Cube to victory – each posting 3-0 shutout wins – while Earls’ Gary Tanner and Tyler Nesgaard both eked out 3-2 victories over their opponents in their eventual team loss.

In the final game, Doug Thorseth and Max Beauchamps won their games to lead Aurora to victory.

Meanwhile, registration is now taking place online for one of the territory’s most popular squash tournaments – the Reservoir Dog – which will take place Nov. 21 and 22.

The weekend tournament is intended to be fun, and is played with a modified scoring system.
