Sports North dethrones Kopper Kings

Terry Slonski scored four goals, including an empty-netter with 27 seconds left in the game, as Sports North got past the Kopper Kings 10-8 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Tuesday.

Terry Slonski scored four goals, including an empty-netter with 27 seconds left in the game, as Sports North got past the Kopper Kings 10-8 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Tuesday.

Derrick Hynes added a pair of goals for Sports North while Linus Fraser, Terry Jackson, Dustin Slonski and Dale Kulych also hit the twine.

Danny Crawford and Ryan MacKenzie recorded hat tricks for the Kings while Dane Hombert and Simon Nugent also lit the lamp.

Southern Tutchone Storm 12

Environmental Dynamics 8

Matt Horsey recorded a hat trick for the Southern Tutchone Storm as they overpowered Environmental Dynamics.

Cody Joe, Tim McIntosh and Simon Nugent tacked on two goals apiece for the Storm. Warren Strand, Kevin Smith and Jeremy Miller also found the back of the net.

Steve Smith potted a pair of goals for EDI while Andy Connors, Adam Green, Dave Richard, Hugo Bergeron, Larry Daigneault and Bradley Barker also scored.

Medicine Chest 4

Performance Centre Turbos 2

Scoring came from all corners for Medicine Chest as they doubled the Performance Centre Turbos.

Kevin Neufeld, Brian Alp, John Mahoney and Mitch Malchow provided all the offence for Medicine Chest.

Jim Stephens and Gary Mailloux posted goals for the Turbos, with assists going to Mailloux and Bob Parks.

Yukon Inn 3

AON Flames 3

Glen Heinbigner scored all three goals for the Yukon Inn as they settled for a draw with the AON Flames.

Greg Steinback was credited with a pair of assists for the Inn while Bernie Adilman had one helper.

Jim Giczi claimed two goals for the Flames while Terry Berquist also netted a marker. Dave Borud, Robert Thompson and Doug Janzen each had an assist.
