Almost 30 racers tackled the hilly courses during this year’s Tour de Skagway.

TOUR DE SKAGWAY

Almost 30 racers tackled the hilly courses during this year’s Tour de Skagway. Half qualified for the overall placing, competing in the three events.

Winners in each category were: Ava Irving Staley, Johna Irving Staley, Lucas Taggart-Cox, Cauis Taggart-Cox, Micah Taggart-Cox, Mollie Fraser, David Jackson, Preston Blackie, Jody Cox and Trena Irving.

NEW COACH

Matthias Purdon will be working to develop a mountain biking program. He hopes to have a race every Thursday night this summer.

ARCHERY CHAMPS

The first inter-school 3-D archery championships were held at the grey mountain biathlon range on Wednesday.

Kate Hannah topped the cubs, followed by Quinn Howard and Hayes Bateman. Christian Kempis won the cadet event, followed by Daemon Goodwin and Jordan Cote.

The top schools were St. Elias Community School, Vanier Catholic Secondary School and Christ the King Elementary School.
