Sport Yukon plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Yukon Sports Hall of Fame with a June 16 ceremony to induct its latest recipient of this award, Lorraine Kuhn.

“Lorraine helped establish Volleyball Yukon in the 1990s and coached generations of Yukoners in both volleyball and basketball at both territorial and national level events,” Sport Yukon said Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, Lorraine passed away this year, but her legacy lives on in the strong and prosperous community of sport in the Yukon.”

The in-person event will be held in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions based on recommendations from the chief medical officer of health’s office.

It is open to family, friends and persons from the media. This ceremony will be streamed on Sport Yukon’s Facebook page.

The June 16th ceremony will take place from 4:30-5 p.m. in the Sport Yukon foyer.
