The young runner earned a silver medal in the 5,000-metre run at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games with a personal-best time of 18:57.
Team Yukon, made up of 24 athletes, is currently competing at the national event in Vancouver.
McIntyre also finished sixth in the standing long jump final after recording a jump of 1.74 metres yesterday.
Those performances followed his fifth-place finish in the 1,500-metre final Wednesday with a respectable time of 5:11.
Other early Yukon highlights include two Thursday swims by Ernest Chua, who stroked to a personal-best time of 1:48.8 in the 100 freestyle to finish fifth. He also finished fourth in the 100 backstroke in 2:07.32.
On Wednesday, Chua earned a silver medal in the 200 freestyle with a time of 4:00.33.
Kevin Spoffard also earned a bronze medal in the pool, finishing the 50 backstroke in 1:08.03.
On Tuesday, Team Yukon walked into the University of British Columbia’s Thunderbird Arena dressed to impress for the opening ceremonies. The group was led by bowler Marvin Hall.
“I am so proud of every member of Team Yukon 2014,” Yukon chef de mission Janine Peters said in a press release. “You have worked so hard to get to this point. Starting (Thursday), all the hard work will pay off.”
Peters also noted how special it is to have a good-sized group of supporters at the event.
“We are constantly told how great it is that Yukon has such wonderful fans,” she stated.
The 2014 Games will wrap up tomorrow.
