Goaltender Joe Sparling led his club to back-to-back wins Thursday and Sunday. His club is now 2-0-1, trailing only Kilrich for top spot in the league standings.
Sparling has allowed only five goals in three games this season, with a sparkling 1.67 GAA.
Air North beat the Firth Rangers 7-2 at Takhini Arena last night, helped by a pair of goals from both Bryce Bekar and Lawrence Crayford.
Chad Cowan, Gary Vantell and Bernie Adilman added singles, while Blayne Monahan scored twice for Firth in the loss.
Air North’s win followed Thursday night’s 4-1 drubbing of the Yukon Inn. Andrew Smith scored twice, with Jared Barrault and Bekar adding single scores.
Steve Smith responded for the Yukon Inn.
Kilrich also remained unbeaten yesterday, improving to 3-0 with a 4-1 win over Medicine Chest.
Guy Gorrell added to his league-leading points tally with two goals and an assist, with Briar Young and Trevor Hale also denting the twine.
Kilrich goalie Brian Currie picked up the win, stopping everything but a shot by Peter Johnston.
Other action saw the Klondyke Dental Molars skate past the Yukon Inn 6-4 and EDI edge the AON Flames 4-3, despite only dressing eight skaters.
Rick Gingell and Tony Park each scored twice for the Molars, with Jim Giczi and Mike Jim adding singles, while Greg Charlie and Adam Green also had two goals a piece for Yukon Inn.
Bob Allison led EDI with two goals, Pat Tobler and Clint Ireland each had one, while Dave Ecker had three assists in their win.
Rick Smith scored twice and Martin O’Hagan had the other in the Flames loss.
On Thursday, Medicine Chest edged Klondyke Dental 3-2 on goals by Ron Limoges, Garrett Zacharius and Johnston. Rick Seaman netted both for the Molars.
The oldtimer league is down one team this season, as Tim Hortons is no longer a team sponsor.
