The fourth annual Whitehorse Rapids International 35 and over Men's Indoor Soccer Tournament will be held this weekend at the Canada Games Centre soccer field house.

Games begin Friday evening at 7 until 10 p.m. Saturday the games are from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The players have a fun tournament banquet on the Saturday evening.

There are five teams in the tournament, four from Whitehorse and one from Juneau. Friday evening and Saturday will be a round robin competition.

The finals will be Sunday starting at 9 a.m. until noon. The fifth place team will play an exhibition game the Sunday morning with a Whitehorse women's all star team.

Juneau has attended every year and won the tournament for the first time last year.

They are always a top team.

No matter where Juneau places in the round robin, their game Sunday morning will be at 9 a.m. so they have time to catch their ferry back to Juneau.

Players range from 35 to in their 60s, and include young stars Justin Carre, Victor Lavanderos, Brad Martin, Phil Jackson, and Jake Hanson; and old stars Charlie Hoeller in goal, Simon Pulido, and John MacPhail.

The level of play is exciting and skillful and fans are more than welcome to attend. Grab a coffee and enjoy some quality local soccer.
