It was a sunny and mild day at Mount Sima on Saturday – perfect conditions for the Mount Sima Uphill Challenge presented by Yukon Yamaha.
It was a sunny and mild day at Mount Sima on Saturday – perfect conditions for the Mount Sima Uphill Challenge presented by Yukon Yamaha.
In pairs, the participants left the start in front of the chalet at the base of the mountain. They proceeded to race up the hill, hitting jumps near the start before rounding a bend and speeding up the rest of the hill.
The winner was the last one standing, not having lost any of their races.
Outside the chalet, observers sat safely distanced enjoying the sights and sounds. The revs of engines reverberated loudly and the air smelled of gasoline.
On Sunday, there was the Sled and Shred. Snowmobilers still raced up the hill, this time with a skier or snowboarder towed behind.
