The Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club will be especially busy this Sunday.

The chalet is pleased to again host a free ski and snowshoe day at the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre, sponsored by Coast Mountain Sports, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The family friendly event is intended to bring everyone out to the trails.

Coast Mountain Sports will provide free ski lessons from 11 to 12:30 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Free day passes and wax tutorials will be provided.

The club will also host free snowshoe lessons, including day passes, rentals and a guided trail walk.

Participants are welcome to explore the trails on their own, as well.

Draws, hot drinks and goodies will be available throughout the day.

Meanwhile, today’s trail report notes most of the popular trails at the club have been recently groomed and are in good condition for classic and skate skiing.

Until more snow falls, however, only skate lanes will be groomed.
