Archers hit the gym last weekend for the Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle’s Yukon Winter Indoor Tournament.

A fun tournament to wrap up the year, about 20 people took part in the event at Takhini Elementary School. Youth from across the territory also took part, including athletes from Old Crow, Haines Junction, Teslin and Carcross.

Unique to the tournament was a Christmas ornament challenge, which involved archers shooting at shatter-proof balls placed on a target.

“It’s just a fun way to end off the archery season,” said Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle sport program director, Colin Hickman.
