Savages beat Mustangs in rec hockey contest

The Summit Savages got off to a quick start in Tuesday's game against the Bantam Mustangs in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's B division.

The Summit Savages got off to a quick start in Tuesday's game against the Bantam Mustangs in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's B division.

The team scored three goals in the first half of the opening period and then added two more to take a commanding 5-1 lead into the second frame.


Summit Savages 6, Bantam Mustangs 2

Craig Yakichuck led the way for Summit Savages, netting two goals and adding one assist in the team's win over the Mustangs.

Other scorers include Mark Nassiopoulos, Cory Magnuson and Aren Coats.

Tyson Glass scored the Mustangs first goal and assisted on the other, which was put in by Gibson Pearson.

Brett Roulston and Tyrell Hope each finished with one assist.


Y.E.S. Jets 4, Narrow Gauge 3

Jeff Quinsey scored twice and finished with the most goals on the Jets in the team's game against Narrow Gauge in the B division on Tuesday.

Derek Brown and Shane Parker also scored for the team in the win.

Khris Day and Jon Osborne also played well, finishing with two assists for the Jets, while Darcey Carlick and Curtis Rewat chipped in one assist.

Phillip Harry and Durand Cornett finished with a goal and one assist for Narrow Gauge, while the team's other scorer was Dan MacDonald.
