The 9th Annual Run Wild event took place Monday at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. There were 67 participants, and $1,620 was raised.

Kyle Lavoie continues to hold his title, but the amazing story is of Leon Barlase, a superstar youth who sped through the course in an incredible time of 24:50:00, winning the youth category.

The second placer was Lisa Freeman, and third place went to Oliver Cann.

The top female adult was Cynthis Freeman, second, Erin Campbell and third Veronica Porter.

The top adult male runners were, first, Lavoie, second, Gwenael Singun, and third, Adam Luciano.

The race was run in two heats, taking into consideration COVID-19.

Steven Smyth, who attended the race, and family will be matching the funds raised, meaning the preserve and our community have raised $3,780 for wildlife rehabilitation.
