It was tough sledding at the Mount McIntyre Disc Golf Course Tuesday night.

Matthew Grant began play three points behind league leader Jesse Devost, and while not delivering his best showing, finished in top spot for the evening with a 3-under 53.

Although Grant banged home six birdies, he couldn't stay away from the dreaded bogie of which he carded three.

Meanwhile, league leader Devost was having trouble of his own. At one point Devost had his score to 4-under but, like Grant, couldn't stay away from bogie land and he finished with a 1-under 55, good enough for third place.

Showing his stuff after a late start in the league play this year, Carl Pearce served notice that he will be a player to be reckoned with posting a 2-under 54 to capture second place.

The toughest sledding however was reserved for the third- and fourth place players in league standings.

Vince Fedoroff and Dan Reimer both had their roughest nights of the year.

Following back-to-back wins over the past two weeks, Fedoroff - aka the Man in Purple - had a total melt down on the back nine. On the heels of a 1-under front nine, Fedoroff followed up with a catastrophic 6-over par on the back, to finish at 5- over 61. Reimer too was struggling, showing lots of rust after a three-week layoff, shooting a 4-over 60.

Special mention this week goes to Paul Getson, who scored a personal best of 8-over 64, which drew him closer to a top-10 spot in league standings.

Disc golfers are now gearing up for this Saturday's Bushwackers Tournament.

Registration begins at 11 am at the disc golf course. For information on the tournament, contact David Griffiths at 667-6771.
