Roadhouse holds onto top spot in broomball league

Roadhouse had a commanding 7-2 victory over the Yukon News in the Whitehorse Broomball League on Monday.

Roadhouse had a commanding 7-2 victory over the Yukon News in the Whitehorse Broomball League on Monday.

Roadhouse currently has an overall record of 7-2 and has scored the most goals so far in the league with 45 in total.

Doug Roberts played an outstanding game for Roadhouse, finishing with the most points on the team with two goals and four assists.

Rob Larose also played amazing, scoring two goals and adding two assists in the victory, while Terry Anderson finished with one goal and one assist.

Other goals scorers on the team included Mary Wintemute and Chris Nash, who each finished with one.

Goal scorers for the Yukon News included Katie Olynyk and Greg Blackjack.

Other notables on the team were Tyler Plaunt and Chris Dixon, who each finished with one assist in the loss.


Capital Towing 6, Builders Supplyland 0

Stuart Campbell played a great game for Capital Towing, scoring a hat trick and adding one assist in the team's victory.

Erin Stehelin also played well, scoring twice, while Francois Lafortune scored one goal and added two assists.


Capital Towing 3, Coyne 0

Stuart Campbell led the way in Capital Towing's game against Coyne on Sunday, scoring two goals and adding one assist.

Francois Lafortune also scored a goal in the victory.

Capital Towing is currently in second place in the league standings with a record of 6-2-1.

The team currently one point behind Roadhouse.


Builders Supplyland 2, Yukon News 2

Jason Murphy played an incredible game for Builders Supplyland, scoring both goals.

Other notables include David Pruden and Dan Anton, who each added one assist for the team in the tie.

Ryan Martin scored both goals for the Yukon News, while John Phelps and Ben Campbell each added one assist.

Montana Kains plays great in goal for Physio Plus in the U-9 Soccer league

Riley Smoler played an incredible game, scoring three of Physio Plus's four goals in their game against Northern Denture on Tuesday in the U-9 Soccer League.

Netminder Montana Kains was named as the team's MVP for making a number of key saves throughout the game.

Ryan McDonald scored the other goal for Physio Plus in the victory.

Gabriel Nadon scored two goals for Northern Denture, while Devon Seaman scored once.

Northern Denture MVP was Alexandra Mattais.


Mosi Oa Tunya Montessori 5, Mobile Maintenance 2

Graydon McDonnell led the way in scoring for Mosi Oa Tunya Montessori with two goals in the team's victory.

Other scorers on the team included Logan Harris, Zakary Endress and Liam Johnoson.

Zachary Unrau was named as Mosi Oa Tunya Montessori's MVP.

Ben McKelland scored both goals for Mobile Maintenance.

Dave's Cleaning Services 10, Alcan Air 3

Michael Hemmings and David Hemmings both played an outstanding game for Dave's Cleaning Services, each scoring a hat trick.

Thoren Locks also played well, finishing with two goals, while John Borud and Sandy Schneide each scored once.

Jessica Williams was named team MVP.

Andrew Walchuck scored the most goals for Alcan Air with two, while Rashid Kabykaev finished the game with one.

Ryan Wilson was named as MVP.

U-13: Jan. 21


Salvation Army 4, Kluane Mechanical 4

Thomas Mostyn finished with the most goals on Salvation Army, scoring two in total.

Other goal scorers on the team included Emily Dorosz and Justin Ens, while Aric Hansen was named Salvation Army's MVP.

Maya Peirier played incredibly for Kluane Mechanical, scoring three of the team's four goals in the tie.

Sebastian Lapres also scored, while Sabrina Clarke was named as the team's MVP for the game.


Boston Pizza 5, Whitehorse Star 4

Gary Drinnan was the difference maker in the game, making a number of big saves to ensure Boston Pizza got the win over the Whitehorse Star.

Drinnan was named MVP for his amazing performance in the game.

Martin Sealy also played an incredible game, scoring twice for the team, while Ryley Andrew and Logan Godin each scored one goal.

Goal scorers for the Whitehorse Star included Graham Mainer-Pearson, Stacey Macklon, Matthew Smith and Jesse Cebuiak.

Smith was also named team MVP.
