Roadhouse hangs on to beat Mustangs in rec hockey game

Four first period goals helped carry Roadhouse to a 5-3 victory over the Midget Mustangs in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division on Monday.

Four first period goals helped carry Roadhouse to a 5-3 victory over the Midget Mustangs in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division on Monday.

Scott Horsey opened up the scoring for Roadhouse in the opening minute of its game against the Mustangs. Horsey added one more goal before the conclusion of the first period and finished the game with three points.

Matt Horsey and Jamie Cairns scored the remaining two Roadhouse goals. Roadhouse is currently in first place in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division.

Jaxon Glass led the Mustangs in team points, finishing with one goal and two assists.

The team's remaining goal scorers on Monday included Riley Tobin and Cody Underhill.


Boston Pizza Hawks 8, Terra Firma Muckers 3

Brian Curial and James Edzerza combined for six of Boston Pizza's eight goals.

Curial had a particularly impressive game, leading his team in points with a hat trick and two assists.

Jordan Borgford and Dave Peason scored the team's remaining two goals, while Trevor Twardochleb finished with three assists.

Andy Connors and Rene Lapierre each scored a goal and added one assist for the Muckers, while Nathan Dumont found the back of the net once.

Daniel Girouard contributed two assists.
