Results from last YOA meet of 2011

The sky was lit with the northern lights for the last event of the Yukon Orienteering Association (YOA) season on Friday.

The sky was lit with the northern lights for the last event of the Yukon Orienteering Association (YOA) season on Friday.

The second annual event drew 21 people out to track the three courses marked. The novice course was 1.6 kilometres long. Linda MacKeigan clocked the fastest time on the novice course with a time of 17 minutes, 10 seconds, closely followed by a family and friends group of Heidi, Fionnuala, Feidhlim, Saya, Ensio and Garrett.

Caelan McLean had the fastest time on the 2.5-km intermediate course with a time of 23:37, followed by Jennifer MacKeigan with a time of 27:09.

The advanced course was won by Forest Pearson in 48:28 followed Philippa McNeil in 72:06.

The YOA would like to thank the volunteers and the junior team for selling hot drinks and snacks. They were much appreciated.
