Registration for the 19th annual Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay closed on Saturday.

There are 275 teams, a record that surpasses last year's record high of 258 teams.

The total number of nearly 1200 riders is close to the maximum number that was set for this year.

"Records have also been set for the Solo and 2-person categories with 52 ‘loonies' and 85 ‘toonies' being registered,” race coordinator Mike Gladish said.

Any changes to the registration must be done by email or in person at the registration nights on Wednesday in Whitehorse and Friday in Haines Junction.

The KCIBR website provides details for making changes.

There is a $20 fee for each change made.

Co-coordinator Mike Kramer would like to remind Whitehorse teams that there is a

Whitehorse Team Captains' meeting and race package pick up on Wednesday at Mt McIntyre.

"As a result of suggestions made last year, we decided to try having two Captains' meetings” Kramer said.

He also added, "Not only will the second meeting reduce some wasted driving time, but may make our job easier by spreading out the registration night congestion”.

The Whitehorse registration night will be at Mt Mac on Wednesday.

Captains may pick up their team's bibs and race package in the Wax Room from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Captains' meeting will take place in the Curling Club lounge at 8 p.m.

Captains must bring waiver forms signed by each team member. Waiver forms can be downloaded from the KCIBR website.

The Haines Junction registration will take place as in past years, at the Convention Centre on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Captains' meeting is at 9pm.

There are 160 teams from Whitehorse.
