Fans of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race can once again look forward to the QuestFest celebration, thanks to the continued support of Air North, Yukon’s Airline.

Air North is back as the official airline of the Yukon Quest and sponsor of QuestFest.

The airline will provide flights between Whitehorse and Dawson City for race officials and veterinarians during the race, and assist with the Yukon Quest’s fundraising efforts.

“QuestFest brings people together and helps build excitement before the official start of the race,” said Laurie Parris, Yukon Quest Executive Director – Yukon.

“It wouldn’t be possible without Air North, Yukon’s Airline. They’re also essential to the running of the Yukon Quest, as they provide safe and fast travel for our race crew prior to and throughout the race.”

“Bringing people together is at the core of what we do, every day,” added Allan Moore, Air North’s chief operating officer.

“Supporting events like QuestFest, which are so deeply rooted in community, just makes sense for us. We’re also huge fans of the Yukon Quest, and knowing that the flights we provide help make for a safer race for the mushers and their dogs means our involvement is extremely worthwhile.”

QuestFest will be held Feb. 1 to 7 in downtown Whitehorse, at Shipyards Park and the Old Fire Hall. The popular event is now in its fourth year, with support from Air North since its inception.

For almost 40 years, Air North has flown passengers to great destinations in the Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Northwest Territories, and Ontario.

The 32nd Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race starts Feb. 7 in Whitehorse.
