Polarettes tumble into championships

Twenty athletes relished their first competition ever.

By Whitehorse Star on May 5, 2021

Twenty athletes relished their first competition ever.

The Polarettes and Polar Tumblers Gymnastics Club and the Yukon Gymnastics Association hosted their annual Yukon Championships event this past weekend.

Forty-six competitive athletes competed in the event throughout the night, with a lively crowd of parents and coaches cheering them on!

The event was hosted in mini-sessions, with COVID guidelines in place.

For 20 of the athletes, this was their first competition ever, and was an absolute blast for everyone involved.

Everyone was excited to compete, after Yukon Champs 2020 was cancelled due to club closures.

The night was filled with celebration, optimism and fun for the team.

Thank you to all volunteers, athletes, coaches, sponsors, and members for your ongoing  support of our athletes and programs.

Tryouts for next year’s team will be taking place in July. Stay tuned.
